Implanting Roses in the Hearts and Gardens of the People. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the cultivation of the world’s most favourite flower.
Founded in 1931, the society is made up of district rose societies working at a local level to ‘To implant the rose in the hearts and gardens of the people which is the motto of the New Zealand Rose Society.
Rose Ranfurly Days are a fun day out where rose societies compete as groups against one another for a shield donated by legendary New Zealand Rose Breeder Dr Sam McGredy. Held in autumn, there are three Ranfurly Days around New Zealand – upper North Island, Lower North Island and the South Island.

South Island February 18th – 20th, Ashburton. Hosted by the South Canterbury Rose Society.
