"This event is over for 2020, watch this space for 2021 dates."
2020 marks ten years of Pūkaha’s much loved annual fundraiser – the Pūkaha Wairarapa Garden Tour.
The 2020 tour will showcase rural native plantings, flourishing edibles, smart designs for urban spaces, flowers galore, sustainable gardens, subtropical delights plus mighty remnant regenerating forests.
Each year the tour alternates between north and south Wairarapa. The 2020 tour showcases gardens in South Wairarapa – taking in the towns of Featherston, Martinborough, Greytown, Carterton and Gladstone.
2020 will showcase gardens for flower lovers, gardens for small spaces, rhododendrons aplenty, a historic homestead garden, an urban garden of rooms to explore and clever ways to grow produce sustainably.
Six of the gardens are new to Pūkaha’s Wairarapa Garden Tour. Several of these have never opened to the public before.
The tour will offer loads of variety- there’ll be something to suit gardeners of all ages. Pick your gardens and choose your route according to whatever tickles your gardening fancy.
A map of the route and gardens will be available in late October (both print and online)
Gardens are revealed on the garden tour website (linked below) in the lead up to tour weekend.
The Wairarapa Garden Tour is a major fundraiser for Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre, allowing the centre to continue its vital work of conservation and restoration of our native flora and fauna.
The 2020 tour will feature beautiful and unique gardens in the Northern Wairarapa.
