Greenwood Garden is 2 minutes from Havelock North village. Facing north the garden features 2 distinctive areas. The top garden getting full sun during spring and summer has lawns surrounded by plantings of roses and Rhodos plus many cacti in pots.
Special features include a pond with a large fountain, small waterfalls and 2 outdoor aquarium ponds, all full of fish that gather at the viewing glass panel at feeding time. The bottom garden is essentially a small bushwalk. This is where you will hear the native birds, especially the tuis which gather en masse to drink from the bird box set on the deck.
Mike is a builder by trade but has always been passionate about gardens and landscaping. He started Greenwood Garden from scratch in 2000 before building the family home in 2001.
The garden is half an acre, allow an hour for your visit.
