I first started my business Odettes as a Devonshire Tea Rooms & Shabby Chic Furniture to raise more funds for our daughter's cycling career, I was sick of farm work, raising calves and milking. So as a couple of DIYers, my husband and I lined out the grain sheds for the Tea rooms and furniture shop, over time added the Conservatory at the end, and then the Tiny house Accommodation and finally added the garden into the mix.
She (Holly) made the NZ cycling team at the age of 17, we supported her until she got the "medal" that gets you funded ( top 10 in the world) at 21. Now 23 an Olympian ( maybe not this yr, but 2021 hopefully)
The garden is French/ Cottage and mainly wraps around the shop and the house. I have many more ideas and have just recently added a picking garden, which I can't wait to harvest, watch this space.
I'm free to run the business more casually, by appointment only to larger groups, much easier. I love gardening, it's so satisfying, and meeting other like-minded people. you never stop learning, changing, wishing some plants would hurry up, whilst wishing others would slow down.
